This morning we look at the subject of friendship. Jesus calls His own “friends” and it is only as we live out of the declared friendship of Jesus that we can be the kinds of friends that we ourselves so desperately need.

This morning we conclude our series on living before God and one another in a responsible manner. Everybody gets a piece of cake. Whereas we are tempted to wonder why someone else’s piece is bigger than ours, that is not the issue. The issue is what are we going to do with the piece in our possession.

This morning we continue our series on being responsible with this question: Do we ever mask our irresponsible behavior with prayer? Do we hide behind our prayers? God’s response to some of our prayers is the command to get off our knees and do something.

…Promoting volunteer opportunities with the Christian Reformed Church in North America
Below is a link to the quarterly list of VOLUNTEER opportunities available with the various agencies and programs of the Christian Reformed Church. If you could make the information available to your congregation, that would be most helpful. To do that we ask that you make a few copies and post them on your church’s missions bulletin board, or pass them on to church members through an email distribution list or post it on your church’s website.
In order to give awareness of the opportunities that are available, it would be appreciated if the following announcement could also be posted in your church bulletin this Sunday:
SERVICELINK’S SUMMER SPOTLIGHT of volunteer opportunities with the CRC has arrived and is posted on our Mission bulletin board. Check out the variety of opportunities to serve across the globe, including participation on a Learning and Justice Tour to Honduras, a Prayer Ministry Trip to Korea and Japan or with a Family Retreat Camp that serves those with a disabled family member.. Might some of these opportunities be for you?
